Slightly browned, buttery, and crumble-in-your-mouth crispy, this appetizer is delicous and nutritious!
Chef's notes
Great, easy-to-make snack that will have you wanting more! My Auntie and I randomly decided to fry some stinging nettle that we had picked, and we LOVED it! Hope you all enjoy!
Steps
1
Gathering the Nettle
Ingredients
Gloves
Scissors
bowl
Snip off about 1 cup of young stinging nettle tops (more if you are planning on drying extra for tea). Wear gloves, though! The 'stingling' sensation is rather unpleasent...
2
Cooking the Nettle
Ingredients
1 cup fresh young stinging nettle tops
1 tbsp butter
Heat skillet with 1 tablespoon of butter. When the butter begins to bubble, add the stinging nettle. Cook for about 3 minutes, turning frequently for even browning. remove from heat, and cool on paper towel. Serve on crackers with cream cheese, or plain.

It was pretty neat to see a recipe here for wild foraged nettle leaves. I have recently gotten into wild foraging and am seeing many edibles just outside my doorstep. The nutritional content of many of the wild foraged foods is high. It seems an untapped source of nutrition with the added bonus of getting you out into nature to get fresh air and exercise. Just pack your gloves when you forage these guys and take only what you need.
just a comment..not a question.
